What is a “rendering”?

A rendering is;

Either an artistic or architectural drawing of a building or other subjects using pen and ink,  graphite or pencil.  Pen and ink can also be paired with watercolor or ink washes to achieve certain effects.

“Architectural drawings are a means to the end.

That end is the building.  They are of a different nature than drawings of architecture done by artists.  For an artist, it is the architecture that is the means to a pictorial end.”

  From the book:  “Architectural Sketching and  Rendering.”

My specialty is doing “artistic” renderings of homes/buildings.  I began doing home renderings 10 years ago.   I have developed my own style, yet each subject I take on is a special or unique project for me.  When I begin each rendering I take into account every aspect.  I form a visual  picture in my mind.  Along with your input, I will chose the medium that will best represent the subject.

Because I work from photos in my studio, it is necessary to take a lot of pictures.  I look for unique architectural features, color, and texture as well as surrounding area and gardens.

Pen and Ink Renderings are perfect for promotional purposes.

They make dramatic real estate closing gifts.

A house portrait makes a wonderful gift for that special person who has everything.

Renderings begin at $195. plus tax.  Two sizes available: 11x14 and 10x20.  Most homes will fit the 11x14 size.  Price includes, black acid-free mat for original rendering and two prints. Please contact me at trice52@aol.com

Thanks for visititng my site!  I welcome all feedback.

A special thanks to Candy Anderson who helped me set-up this website!  She is the owner of the most wonderful little gift shop in Kent.  Please check out her site by clicking on Bytheredbarn above.  Yes, the rendering is of her unique shop!
