Patrice Colvin has lived most of her life in the Seattle area.  Many of her days as a child were spent playing in the old growth forest surrounding her family home. She also treasures the days spent at her grandparent's lakefront cabin east of Seattle.
For ten years Patrice worked as a professional cake designer.  She chose to quit her profession to stay home and raise her son until he entered college. Patrice has been painting and drawing most of her life.  She has enjoyed a variety of private lessons with local artists over the years.  She earned an Associates Degree and a certificate in Multimedia Design at Green River Community College, June, 2000.  In the certificate program she was introduced to a large range of media during her studies, including photography, computer graphics and animation, gauche, pen and ink, and pottery.  She began oil painting 7 years ago and it has become one of her favorite mediums. She also loves to cook, garden, read, travel and spend time with her cats that she has rescued over the years. Patrice and her husband Bob make their home in Kent, Washington.  Their son Robert is working toward a master's degree in Washington, D.C.
