Biography
Patrice Colvin has lived most of her life in the Seattle area. Many of her
days as a child were spent playing in the old growth forest surrounding her family home. She also treasures the days
spent at her grandparent's lakefront cabin east of Seattle.
For
ten years Patrice worked as a professional cake designer. She chose to quit her profession to stay home and raise her
son until he entered college. Patrice has been painting and drawing most of her life. She has enjoyed a variety of private
lessons with local artists over the years. She earned an Associates Degree and a certificate in Multimedia Design at
Green River Community College, June, 2000. In the certificate program she was introduced to a large range of media during
her studies, including photography, computer graphics and animation, gauche, pen and ink, and pottery. She began oil
painting 7 years ago and it has become one of her favorite mediums. She also loves to cook, garden, read, travel and spend
time with her cats that she has rescued over the years. Patrice and her husband Bob make their home in Kent, Washington. Their
son Robert is working toward a master's degree in Washington, D.C.
